If you happen to have a fuel-oil application where you only have a "one pipe system" but would like to have the "two pipe" abilities of vacuum and full gear set capacity, then you can always configure the pump as a 2 pipe system by returning the oil to its own supply line, and the pump now thinks it is a 2 pipe system.
